Woman murdered in Bermuda, police hunt for assassin
A 32-year-old-female was shot dead at her home in Sunset Pass, Pembroke, Bermuda today.
The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) said the incident occurred around 12:20am.
The woman was found lying outside her home by police, who performed CPR on her until an ambulance took her to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries.
At a media conference, Police Commissioner Stephen Corbishley said investigators are looking for a person of interest, who was driving on a black and yellow motorcycle.
“It is quite clear that this lady was targeted by an individual and shot dead,” Corbishley said.
“Those that have been in Bermuda far longer than I, will know that for a woman to be murdered in such circumstances is off the scale,” he added.
The commissioner has called on anyone with information regarding the crime to assist the police with their investigation.
This incident marks the island's second shooting death and third murder for 2020.
