Taiwan helps St Vincent fight diabetes

St Vincent and the Grenadines has received monetary assistance for a Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) recently handed over a cash donation of US$ 173,000 to SVG’s Ministry of Health.

The funds will be utilised to train local health personnel to strengthen their capacity in diabetes prevention and control.

The Ministry of Health said the money will also be used to support an intervention study to evaluate the efficacy of a Self-Management Education Program under the Diabetes Prevention and Control Project.

Through this and other previous donations the Ministry stated it is able to significantly further enhance its capacity for diabetes prevention and control to benefit the citizens.
