COVID-19 cases increase again in Turks and Caicos Islands

A significant increase in COVID-19 cases has been recorded yet again in the Turks and Caicos Islands.  

Thirteen new confirmed cases were identified as of 12 am on June 28.  

TCI says these persons are contacts of other confirmed cases.  

This brings the number of active cases to 29 and the island’s overall number of confirmed cases to 41.

Two cases are currently under hospital care.  

Aggressive contact tracing and control measures have been implemented by TCI’s public health team.  

Premier Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson will provide updates at 6 pm on decisions taken during an extraordinary meeting of Cabinet which was held on Sunday.  

She will be joined by Chief Medical Officer Dr Nadia Astwood.
