Anyone entering St Eustatius from countries, where the risk of contracting coronavirus is medium or high, will have to quarantine themselves for a period of 14 days.

The island’s government updated its COVID-19 policy on Wednesday saying the quarantine can take place at home or at a central quarantine facility.

For home-based quarantine, persons will be required to isolate by themselves.

Spouses or parents can join their family members in the quarantine but they will not be allowed to leave the residence.

During the quarantine, public health officials will be in constant contact with the person in isolation.

Central Quarantine will come at a fee.

From November 9, it will be possible for essential work, which is mainly outdoor, to be done during the quarantine period.

But, the workers must work overnight in the quarantine location and work during the day under a strict regime.

These plans need to be submitted by the employer and each person involved needs to sign a protocol.
