Sint Maarten records five new COVID-19 cases

Sint Maarten continues to see a drop in the number of new coronavirus cases being reported.  

As of September 7, the Dutch Caribbean island confirmed five new cases.  

The new total of positive cases now stands at 516.

The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) said it is monitoring 171 people in home isolation.  

To date, 176 active cases have been registered of persons who contracted COVID-19.  

Five patients are currently hospitalised and the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at 19 for Sint Maarten.  

The number of people recovered since the first case surfaced on the island remains at 321.  

Based on contact tracing investigations, 99 people are now in quarantine.  

CPS said as the numbers continue to fluctuate it will continue to actively execute its contact tracing measures.
