More COVID-19 relief for Sabans

The Government of Saba will be implementing a one-time relief package for residents still dealing with the effects of the coronavirus.

In a statement, Public Entity Saba said its main economic pillars, tourism and rental/tutition payments from its medical school, have been hard it.

This relief package is for persons that lost their jobs and for the loss of rental income because of the departed medical students.

Funds can be used to pay for rent, utility bills, and food packages.

Applicants can send their completed and signed form to the Public Entity Saba at no later than August 21, 2020, with a copy of their valid identification card.

The Dutch Government has been providing assistance to Saban through a salary subsidy and a fixed cost allowance for self-employed persons who have entirely lost their income.

The local Government has also waived business licenses from March 13.
