Major repair work for Canouan airport runway in St Vincent

Over half a million dollars will be spent on repairs at Canouan Airport.  

Canouan is an island belonging to St Vincent and the Grenadines.  

The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) commenced repair work on the Canouan Airport runway on October 12.

The project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Transport and Works, and the Argyle International Airport (AIA) is being done at a cost of EC $610,000. 

The work entails the repair of 7,839 square feet of the runway. 

BRAGSA said this will be done in the form of asphalt and perma patching. 

In addition to the repairs, BRAGSA conducted soil testing. 

The runway repair work is scheduled to be completed on October 17.
