As the world continues to seek a lasting solution to coronavirus pandemic, Julien Kentish, a National Youth Ambassador from Antigua and Barbuda, believes young people need to be given a seat at the discussion table.
Kentish said young people are a section of the global population with the most to lose during this pandemic.
“COVID-19 has taken jobs and families from our youth locally, regionally and internationally. Educations systems have been under pressure ever since the realisation of the mode of transmission for COVID-19,” Kentish said.
“We are faced with a situation that seems insurmountable. However the hope is in the potential role youth can take once given the opportunity.”
Kentish, who is an advance nursing assistant, also called for steps to be taken to boost the mental health services provided in this perilous time.
