COVID-19 cases spike in Turks and Caicos

Another 14 cases of coronavirus were detected on the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The TCI Government confirmed the new cases shortly before mid-night on Friday.

Two of the cases are from Grand Turk while the remaining patients are residents of Providenciales.

Eleven are contacts of known confirmed cases, two are still under investigation with no clear epidemiological link and one is a traveller from a country with sustained local transmission.

To date, 591 cases were confirmed on the TCI.

Of those cases, 221 have recovered.
