The Bahamas records 232 COVID-19 cases in two days

The Bahamas Ministry of Health recorded 232 cases of COVID-19 in the last two days, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3699.

On Wednesday, September 23, the Ministry recorded 151 cases

Of those cases, 128 were in New Providence, 4 in Grand Bahama, 17 in  Abaco, 1 in Andros and 1 in Inagua.

Also on Wednesday, the Health Ministry confirmed two more COVID-related deaths.

Two men ages 73 and 49 died from complications related to the virus on September 22.

On Thursday the Ministry recorded an additional 81 new cases.

The breakdown of cases by island is as follows:

  • New Providence 75
  • Grand Bahama 4
  • Abaco 2

A 50-year-old male from New Providence who tested positive for the virus died on Thursday.

At present, there are 1626 active cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas, 90 of whom are being treated at the hospital.

To date, a total of 86 virus-related deaths have been recorded.
