The Bahamas: COVID-19 infections on the rise, 55 new cases recorded

The Bahamas Ministry of Health has recorded 55 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths are under investigation.

According to a press release that was made public late on Sunday, 51 of the new cases were recorded in New Providence, 1 in Grand Bahama, 1 in Abaco and 1 in Exuma.

Currently, there are 1580 active cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas.

The location of one of the newly confirmed cases isn't yet known.

The territory has recorded 74 COVID-related deaths to date and at present, a total of 18 deaths are still under investigation.

The Bahamas has significantly its COVID-19 testing since a surge in infections was first recorded in the islands.

To date 17, 102 tests have been completed.
